Commissioned by the Colorado Parks Foundation

This steel kinetic sculpture was inspired by the unique

Rocky Mountain Columbine, the state flower of Colorado.

Capturing such a delicate flower in cold hard steel

was an intriguing challenge for two Denver-area artists,

Andrew Patch and Edward Done, aka: AP Dado.

AP Dado sketched and made prototypes

and welded their creative ideas together

to create this sculpture,

and create it they did, on a grand scale.

Five larger-than-life Columbine ‘trees’ and 60 flowers

are now installed at the south end of Johnson Habitat Park,

directly adjacent to the South Platte River Greenway in the City of Denver, CO.

Experiencing this signature Colorado symbol,

steel flowers magically twisting and turning in the breeze,

can immerse one in a world of whimsy,

if only...
